Meet your Photo Guide
Luisa is a Venezuelan-born wildlife photographer based in South Africa since 2020. She studied Media & Communications and Film Direction, spent four years working in the cruise industry’s photo department — where she led private photoshoots, trained photography teams, and presented beginner-friendly photo talks for guests.
Her wildlife images have been featured by NatGeo Your Shot, Sigma South Africa, Nikon South Africa, Addo Elephant National Park, Kragga Kamma Game Park, Amakhala, and more. In partnership with Abundant Adventures, Luisa now guides beginner and amateur photographers on relaxed, enjoyable wildlife photo tours in Kruger. Her warm, simple teaching style makes photography accessible to everyone — even if you’ve never taken your camera off Auto.

Where you'll stay
Twalumba Lodge is situated in the Marloth Park nature conservancy within walking distance of the border to the Kruger National Park and the beautiful Crocodile River. The lodge features a communal kitchen and braai area for meals, swimming pool, fire pit and beautiful surroundings. Free roaming game offer spur of the moment photographic opportunities.

Itinerary

Day 1 | Foundations of Wildlife Photography
We depart Johannesburg between 06:30 and 07:00 on Day 1 of the tour. Enroute to the Kruger National Park we stop for breakfast at our half way point, Millys. Upon arrival at the lodge our guests enjoy an introductory photography workshop outlining Camera Setup Essentials, Core Settings for Safari Photography, Focus & Tracking and Composition Basics. We then settle in for the evening, get to know our fellow travellers and enjoy dinner and a relaxed evening.

Day 3 | Long Drive Day & Action Photography
Day 3 starts with a delicious skottel breakfast at the lodge before departing on our 6 hour late morning drive.
An optional additional photography workshop will be on offer ahead of the game drive for any guests wishing to partake.
We return to the lodge in the late afternoon and settle in for a delectable dinner and relaxed evening. Our photographic focus shifts to Action Photography, Reading Animal Behaviour, and Lightroom Editing today.
Day 4 | Style, Confidence & Creativity
First light signals the start of our second day in the bush. We enjoy some coffee and rusks before setting off on our morning drive at around 06:00 and arrive back at the lodge around midday. Enjoy a packed healthy breakfast on the road.
Photographic elements covered on Day 4 include Fun Photo Challenges, Developing your Personal Style and Ethical Wildlife Photography.
Day 2 | Light, Moment & Composition
First light signals the start of our second day in the bush. We enjoy some coffee and rusks before setting off on our morning drive at around 06:00 and arrive back at the lodge around midday. Enjoy a packed healthy breakfast on the road.
Photographic elements covered on Day 2 include Understanding Natural Light, Reading Animal Behaviour and Comprehending Composition. Today is about building confidence!


Day 5 | Wrap-up & Departure
Our final day begins at 06:30 with a cup of fresh coffee and delicious breakfast. At around 09:00 we begin our return journey to Johannesburg, arriving between 15:00 and 17:00. Each guest receives a certificate of completion and the skills to excel in their photographic journey moving forward!
